Westwell Hall is a Victorian Gothic style building, constructed around 1880 as a gentleman’s residence. Used as a Military Hospital during the Great War, it is now a Grade II Listed building, which has been used as a Guest House in many guises up to the present day. Westwell Hall occupies an imposing and elevated position, with sea views, standing amidst the famous Torrs and adjacent to National Trust Parkland.
With miles of unspoilt coastal downs, stretching away directly behind the house, yet still within easy reach of the lovely beaches and shopping centres, it is the ideal place for exploring the beautiful, rugged coastline of North Devon, either on foot or by car.
A new vision:
In 2017, Betty and Bonnie Button began to develop the property into a high-end licensed guest-house. Betty and Bonnie have two decades of experience in stage and theatre and their skills and tastes have given the new Westwell Hall a truly individual look and feel. Features will include nine high-quality, unique-styled en-suite rooms, a restaurant, bar and a large public outside area with impressive original architectural features throughout. Many rooms in Westwell Hall (and the restaurant and outdoor areas) offer panoramic views of Ilfracombe and the stunning coastline.
